Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
The first season presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
